7/10/2025: Sala Update is being worked on

with all the battlers made for Sala (barring the secret ones to come later) I have started laying the foundations for the future updates of Sala's Escape. I have gone through a lot of fuckery between release and now, and if this update isn't out by this halloween, I will go STARK. RAVING. MAD.
What you can expect from this update:
- New Sala Sprites. These sprites will change depending on whether or not Sala is a) the party leader, and b) if she is stripped to her underwear or naked, or if she has another more sinister outfit.
- Actual bondage in combat via battlers: No longer will you have to make a concerted effort to see Sala bound and gagged. Now you will see her in varying states of bondage and undress.
- A brand new Sala Game Over CG: I want to make it a tradition that I add at least one captured game over CG for Sala with each update.
- Some kind of map system maybe? While I have no idea how to make a map system, and underground crypts aren't exactly known for having convenient map kiosks, less fortunate adventurers than Sala might have left pieces of maps behind. Granted these map pieces are usually scrawled in lamentations, last wills and testament, blood stains, tear stains of those beyond hope of seeing the sun again, but they are USUALLY just legible enough to tell you where to go. Of course one could always just follow the blue candles (that's why SOMETHING put them there.) I may even add a few landmarks or some such to give the map some more legibility.
- A new NPC to meet: Say hello to Faelyn Storm. He's a little unfinished... and dead... and drunk... eternally drunk. This trapped drunken Azureynn soul will have a purpose later (when I start adding a bunch of quests, with the Dorice Update) He spouts lore stuff, drunkenly waxes lyrical, and did I mention he drinks a lot of that ghostly absinthe?
- POSSIBLY? Update the other crypt area. This might be a lore nitpick, but I strain my brain a little over the second area of the crypt. You see, those of you that exit it will notice it goes into an ancient graveyard that is millenia old. Being a human one. So why is a more contemporary crypt connecting to this ancient human one? I guess I could connect the tombs via some natural cave tunnel caused by underground erosion or some shit like that, but that would raise further questions of why hasn't the rest of the place collapsed if that was the case?
- Other unrelated project: the Sala's Escape Lore Notes. Using a pirated (unrepentantly so, fuck you adobe) version of indesign I have been writing down page after page of lore notes for the world of Sala's Escape. You see I get quite a few fan commissions, featuring fan OCs, and I thought "I should make a definitive guide to the world of Sala's Escape, for those that want accurate OCs and stuff." I am making pictures for it, but I'm keeping them back and white to save on File Size. I just wish I knew where to host such a thing.
