Devlog 2/15/2024 Shot myself in the ass doing nuclear testing

What is up party people?

We've hit a snag before we can move on to testing: while doing the visual gubbins for princess rescue (the testing ground) my artistic autism kicked into high gear and said "We can't end this visual part without a new game over." But because I have to stream commissions (at picarto.tv/quakehoof ) and YCHs to work on (remember to join the guilded for those too https://www.guilded.gg/i/2DlDjXn2 ), I can only devote a few minutes a day to it. I feel like I should not move ahead with testing until I get this one solitary game over ready. and THEN at last we can do testing.

But I do have some good news. Not great groundbreaking news, but more like "I stubbed my toe, but hey look a rainbow!" kind of news:

First, I've discovered that it is possible to implement the Red Mother's six lieutenants (read: Charna, Vyl'shaerri, Skittergnaw, Melophie, unnamed goat, and TBD) as REALLY HARD MINIBOSSES without the use of plugins (I just need to draw them and code them and give them game overs.

-It should be possible to sneak around these bosses, because these are not any miniboss: these are centuries, sometimes millennia, old vampires who can snap Sala and company in half (and not the sexy way) if they're not careful. The most brazen of players, the most determined of players, can potentially tie up these six vampires (and yes there will be CGs.)

Second: Said artistic autism kicked into high gear while idly screwing with Princess Rescue and I have laid out the mansion stealth level in its entirety to test out stealth plugins later. This can potentially mean no more being spotted through the walls in Sala's Escape. Moreover, this mansion level forces the three princesses to dress (and work) as Maid-Slaves at the mercy of a sadistic and insane Head Maid who will send the player to be punished over ANY tiny infraction (up to and including calling her [Redacted] she HATES that.) Try not to piss her off too much or your quest to save Equestria might meet an abrupt end.

-I've used the in-RPGmaker tilesets for this one for the most part. So the mansion will be light on the visual gubbin requirements. The head maid, guards, other maid slaves, will need spritework. As will the [redacted] in the [redacted]

Third: I'm considering making Lore Comics for the six lieutenants of the Red mother. The first of which I'm thinking should be Charna. She wasn't always the murderous tsundere bully you'll come to know and love, and her beak wasn't always red. I already have a cover in mind, I just need to iron out some rifts in the story.

-Vyl'shaerri's lore comic will give a glimpse at the lore's Age of Demons and her role in the Red mother's ressurection

-all the others I haven't quite figured out yet, but I have time.

Forth: by rubbing some of my scarce braincells together I think I have come up with a use for the Vampire System I intend to impliment in Princess Rescue into Sala's Escape: Speaking from a lore perspective, vampirism is permanent. It's not like the Elder Scrolls: you become a vampire, you're a vampire forever. BUT! In the forest update (coming sometime after the Hellfire update) one of your new companions is an alchemist, who knows a way to mimic vampirism for 24 hours.  While this won't make you and your companions *real* vampires, you'll still be passible and have a chance to fool the Red Mother's armies patrolling the forest for you.  But be advised: If you walk the walk, don't walk in the sun either!

-For those wondering how Vampirism is working in Princess Rescue, your soul gets stolen. You just have to go get it back... or don't.

That's where we're at right now.

Okay but what if getting snapped in half (in the non-sexy way) is what we're into?
